Grove, Burning Man
Grove is an interactive forest of 10 trees made of steel tubing. As participants lie beneath the trees and breath on the 3D printed flowers the trees glow and change color in response. Presented at Burning Man 2016.
Visualized as a grove of beautiful low hanging trees, Grove is an interactive art installation that uses breath sensors to create a meditative and immersive experience. A reflection on the interdependence of breath, Grove uses biofeedback sensors, connecting our inner workings with tangible art installations. - Grove Proposal
Grove is a set of 10 interactive biofeedback sculptures, a conversation between humans and trees. Each tree is made of steel tubes, thousands of LEDs, and custom breathing sensors. - Samuel Clay
Grove was conceived by the artist Shilo Shiv Suleman and exectued by a group of collaborators. My role included PCB and firmware design, assembly and keeping the installation working in the desert.
